How long does it take to transfer a domain name to your servers? and what nameservers should I use?

It usually takes up to 24-48 hours for DNS to propagate so that your domain is loading off of our servers. To initialize the change you will make the necessary changes with your domain name registrar.

I already have a registered domain name. How do I transfer it to UNFLUX.net?

You will need to change your current nameserver information to UNFLUX.net's information. You can log on to your domain registrar and transfer the domain name yourself using the user name and password they assigned you. Once logged in to your registrar account, you can change the nameserver information to point to UNFLUX.net. After you signup with our service we will tell you what nameservers to use for your domain name.

My site is not showing up when I type in my domain name. What’s wrong?

If you have recently set up your account, this probably means that your domain name has not been propagated to all of the possible domain nameservers.

You should also make sure you have a home page with a file name (such as index.htm or default.htm). Also be sure that you uploaded the files to the correct directory.

If you can access your site using the temporary Web address (URL) we provided you at sign up, it's best to wait a day or two for the propagation period to complete. If after 72 hours the domain name still does not resolve correctly, Contact Us.

What is propogation?

When someone types in a domain name into their web browser, their request is referred to a nameserver that directs the request to an address on the web, an IP address. This IP address is the address of the web server the domain resides and makes it possible for those visitors to view your site on the web. When your domain's location changes to a new IP address, or when you deploy a new site with a new domain name, nameservers around the world must be notified of this change. This process is referred to as propagation. Propagation typically takes 48 to 72 hours, provided that all information was submitted properly to your registrar and to UNFLUX.net for account setup.

What nameservers should I use with UNFLUX.net Hosting?

After you signup with our service we will tell you what nameservers to use for your domain name.

Do I need to register my domains myself, or does UNFLUX.net register them for me?

UNFLUX.net does not register domain names. You will need to visit a registrar of your choice to register your own domain names. UNFLUX.net endorses GoDaddy (www.godaddy.com) for all domain purchases.
