What is Unflux policy regarding SPAM&how do you investig

Postby eco on Mon May 21, 2007 3:06 pm

Hello Unflux,

I like to hear you opinion regarding SPAM (unsolicited mails):

1. How do you define SPAM ?
2. What recautions and procedure do you then follow ?
3. In a Justice society (incl. US I assume) javascript:emoticon(':book:')
Readingno body are guilty until opposit is proved, right ? Wouldn't that then be fair to assume that no account should be cancelled/suspended until any required investigation is done ?

I'm simply refering to my latest case (today), where my account was suspended, with no warning og any contact what so ever to the owner (me) of the website.
Can I ask you why do you do this ? It is really unfair not even been heard.
What kind of business can you start if this unprofessional set of "rules" is in charge ?

I look forward to hear from the Unflux adm. on this unfortunately insiden !

Since you ask, here is your answer directly from our Acceptable Use Policy:
Spam or Unsolicited/Bulk Email: You agree not to use UNFLUX.net services to "SPAM" or send any unsolicited commercial email or unsolicited bulk email or aid in sending such unsolicited email, even if that email is not commercial. In response to a complaint, we have the discretion to determine, from all of the evidence we receive, whether the intended recipients were from an "opt-in" email list. You are also prohibited from sending the same or substantially similar unsolicited email message, whether commercial or not, to 50 or more recipients.

It is your responsibility as a potential client to read through, understand, and then agree to our terms of service upon signing up. Clearly you must have misunderstood our terms, or simply did not read them.

Your account was flagged as sending 1000's of emails at once. So I'm not sure where you even have a gripe. Your account was suspended without notice at my discretion when we rec'd several complaints in a short period of time that performance was lacking. Based on that alone, your account could have been terminated by our policies.

For a closer look at what those policies are, feel free to read them here: http://www.unflux.net/legal/aup.htm
