I currently have my hosting with a different company, but was very impressed with the ammount of product i would get for essentially the same price at unflux.

The service I have right now uses cpanel for it's control panel. since this is the first hosting company i've used, i have a question: is cpanel the same regardless of who the service provider is? is it a standard interface (look/feel/operation) or is cpanel really the guts and the interface changes from hosting provider to hosting provider?

Essentially, yes. The brand of control panel, cpanel, is a standardized server software by www.cpanel.net and is maintained with the latest in updates, features, etc. There are additional 3rd party addons to cpanel that some hosts provide, however we do not supply them for various reasons. Namely server performance and generally being unnecessary (fantastico for instance), we have excluded some of these to enhance server performance for everyone.

In terms of the control panel itself, however, if the software has been updated correctly from host to host, then cpanel is cpanel is cpanel.
