I just realised when I looked at the checkout that it was paypal only.

I do have a paypal account and it is verified - however, I do not have funds currently in the paypal balance.

I have never used paypal but have had it for years - do I need to wait to transfer funds into my paypal balance or can I simply pay and then paypal deduct the amount from my bank account (it is verified as I said).

I am too used to using my credit card and it was an oversight as I transferred money into my credit card and was waiting for it to clear to make a purchase - hopefully I can just make a purchase directly (via paypal) without having to transfer funds in as it will take a further 7-9 business days if it is not the case

You should be able to use your credit card with Paypal to pay. They accept Visa. Alternatively you can do a direct transfer from your bank account to pay. Either way should be fine. If you do it via the bank account it might take 3-7 business days to clear. Paying with your Visa on the Paypal site would be immediate I think.
