Deleting FTP files - Permission denied?

Postby Ganceann on Sat May 05, 2007 3:16 pm

Hi,

I am basically trying to delete just about everything on an addon domain via FTP and keep getting 550 permission denied.

Basically I used the addon domain to look over a script I was purchasing and have a domain and VPS set up to run the script - but it gives invalid license key (due to the valid license key on the addon domain).

Obviously I have only 1 license - and not being able to delete the details on the addon domain means it may still view that domain as the valid one.

When checking for 550 permission errors I came across this:
FTP 550 errors (no permission) occur when documents are uploaded to folders outside the "httpdocs". httpdocs is the webroot directory; all files, with the exception of cgi / perl scripts (uploaded to CGI-BIN) must be uploaded to httpdocs.

So the question is how I can delete the remaining files - or will I need to get one of you guys to do it?

It is ok now - couldn't delete it via FTP but was able to delete them via File Manager.

Just never used file manager before so asked the question a bit too early :P

Glad you were able to figure that out. It's a bit tricky with the php permissions, but file manager seems to work well to get around it.
