Not receiving email from one site

Postby Ganceann on Wed Oct 24, 2007 7:43 pm

Hi,

Just curious as why I wouldn't be receiving email from one site (cj.com).

Is it blocked by the server from receiving email?

Looking into it, I don't even see any incoming mail from that domain at all. We don't have that domain blocked, so I'm not sure why you wouldn't be receiving mail from it. Is it possible that the email address they are sending to is incorrect or invalid?

Nope, I already checked that.

I was with a cafepress affiliate programme and all their emails come through. Cafepress transitioned over to cj.com and since then I have received nothing.

I have also noticed the cj.com spider on my site that normally only spiders valid affiliate members sites that have sent traffic to them within the last 30 days.

I have never made much with the cafepress affiliate programme as it was only going to be tried out - although with the way things are, it means that area of the website will never be developed any further as no point if just sending my traffic away for nothing :P

I have been busy over the last few months working on an actual business site and am close to launching it - but I cannot register with cj.com for another affiliate account because I have an existing account with them. That is the reason why I am trying to get it sorted out, so that my business site would be able to be added to my cj.com account.

The only answer I ever got from cafepress was from their technical support that suggested maybe the cj.com domain/domains were blocked by the spam filter (but you have checked that and said they weren't blocked).

Only thing I can really do is again go back to cafepress technical people and see if they have any more suggestions. Basically i do not get any correspondance from cj.com at all - no matter what I have tried, so contacting them is pointless - while cafepress have people specifically working in association with cj.com

Well, the issue still isn't resolved - can't get any communication from cj.com at all.

Today I just read a possible reason:

got an answer for you on this one. Is your mail server running Exim or Spam Assassin? If this is Yes, then that is your problem.

Just wondering - as one option is to try and catch them on the phone and an account manager will issue a password - though hotmail addresses work, I just can't get my email changed without being able to login... I really do not understand how cj.com can be so successful, yet have many 100s of publishers unable to access their accounts.

The reason I said 100s is I am being conservative - just wish they pointed out that people should use throwaway email addresses if they want to receive any correspondence (the worst thing is I did receive their newsletter that I never opted into). Just have so many other things to try and sort, it is way down my priority list.

EDIT:
cj.com may not be blocked - but custhelp.com may be blocked (found out that is where the password recovery is issued from).

EDIT AGAIN:
Finally managed to get a human response to an alternative email address that was able to get the issue resolved - only took about 3-4 months after continually raising the issue with cafepress, maybe they asked someone at cj.com to check the emails :P
