I am interested in how to modify phpbb boards as well as unflux and his staff did theirs. I have tried to mess around with some of it, but it never turns out right. If you can point me to a site that has a good walkthrough or something. I found one on phpbb.com but that basically just explained how to create a brand new one and set it up w/ the servers. I am looking to completey edit the default temp and customize it like unflux did.

Not sure about a tutorial since I donot make templates. But you can either go to http://www.ozzu.com/ and post there, or you can goto http://www.phpbbhacks.com/templatesdemo to preview alot of templates that you may like. You can also goto google and do a search or I think there may be a tutorial at http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Tips_and_ ... index.html and there may be one there. But I hope someone else helps you to that knows what they are talking about a bit more than I do.

I've made several templates for phpbb, it's not to hard. Maybe try downloading one thats similar to what you want and modify from there making it easier. Just remember to keep the authors copyright or website link on there unless you got permission to remove.
